| Growing Order Book, More Job Opportunities
With a burgeoning order book, PPL’s need for manpower is ever increasing. Apart from our normal recruitment activities through advertisements and recruitment agencies, we also participate actively in recruitment fairs and conduct recruitment talks to broaden our reach.
PPL believes in hiring the best employees to meet our manpower needs. Promising young professionals are put on a fast track programme to accelerate their development and to give them a clear career path.
And to add fresh perspectives to our workforce, the Company is open to hiring candidates from non-traditional professions and occupations.
A Responsible and Compassionate Corporate Citizen
ASMI SuperV Scheme
PPL believes in being a responsible and compassionate corporate citizen. PPL is an active participant in the ASMI SuperV Scheme for the Marine Industry jointly developed by The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI). Workers from other industry sectors who are unable to find jobs in their own industry sectors are employed and retrained under a two-year scheme leading to possible supervisor-ship within the Company. The Scheme offers successful candidates the position of Trainee Supervisor with a starting salary of $1,200 monthly – an increase of $300 as compared to the usual starting pay for entrants to this industry. This is made possible by creating the new Trainee Supervisor job.
